Healthy Reefs for Healthy People (HRI) is a globally unique international collaboration among reef research, management and conservation institutions dedicated to safeguarding the Mesoamerican Reef off Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. HRI is hosted within the Smithsonian Institution, and works closely with partners to convene and coordinate the region’s collaborative monitoring and communication about the overall health of the Mesoamerican Reef and our efforts to manage it. On January 10, 2018, the 2018 Mesoamerican Reef Report Card will be launched in the four countries – celebrating a decade of collaborative monitoring and conservation results, including an improvement in reef health.
