Blue finance develops innovative investment mechanisms to improve the management of coral reef ecosystems.
A suite of initiatives is being developed in the Caribbean Region where Blue finance is partnering with Governments, communities, NGOs and impact investors to design and implement joint partnerships for sustainable financing and efficient management of Marine Management Areas.
The Management Areas are expected to contribute to several SDGs of the islands and become concrete partners of the “green” economic development of the countries.
The current projects encompass more than 1000km2 of crucial coral reef habitat and livelihood enhancements for 24,000 households.
