Research by the World Tourism Organization found that in 2016, nature-based and adventure tourism was growing annually by 10-30%, accounting for up to 25% of the world’s tourist market. It is clear that nature tourism is a big business and that wildlife experiences are an extremely popular marine tourism activity around the world.
However, currently, there are no global standards of practice for wildlife tourism attractions. It’s up to you to say no to fish feeding, ultimately ending the unnatural and potentially deadly practice. Are you aware of the extent of the problem? Why is it so popular? What can you do?
