CORDIO hosted a screening of Chasing Coral at Nyali Cinemax, on Saturday the 8th of September.

The event was a huge success with over 290 attendees from all age groups and backgrounds! After the screening CORDIO had organised a panel discussion with Mohammed Hersi (Kenya Tourism Federation), John Wambua (Kenya Wildlife Service), Dr Jacqueline Uku (Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute) and CORDIO’s own Dr David Obura. The discussion focused predominantly on how we can increase awareness and make a conscious effort to manage reefs as well as reducing waste and plastic in Mombasa. The majority of the audience did stay to listen and participate in the discussion and young adults from universities and schools engaged thoroughly posing insightful and important questions.
