Centre for Synthesis and Analysis of Biodiversity (CESAB)
The Foundation for Research of Biodiversity (FRB) has announced the 2018 call for research projects of its Centre for the Synthesis and Analysis of Biodiversity (CESAB).
Through a merit-based selection process, four projects can be funded in 2018 including one project on coral reefs.
As 2018 is the International Year of the Reef, the FRB, in partnership with AFB and the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, will finance a project on this theme. Projects considered will take into account the ecological trajectories and functionalities of these ecosystems for the definition of ecological status indicators.
CESAB supports national or international working groups developing a synthesis of ideas and concepts, and/or data to improve our understanding of all facets of biodiversity. The members of CESAB groups share expertise and existing data to address specific questions relevant to a wide range of biodiversity issues at any spatial or temporal scale.
Proposals from the natural and social sciences are welcome. Research leads do not have to be French, but must be permanently employed in a french organisation
Projects will be funded up to €190,000 per project, including € 170,000 for the operation of the project and €20,000 for the animation of the project.
Deadline for submissions of pre-projects: 1pm 2nd May 2018.
Deadline for submissions of projects: 1pm 29th June 2018.
Selection of projects by the Scientific Committee: 6th September 2018.
