“La mer arc-en-ciel : une plongée au coeur des récifs coralliens de France et d’Israel” (Rainbow sea: diving into the heart of France and Israel’s coral reefs) was organized by France’s National Natural History Museum (MNHN) in close collaboration with the Steinhardt Natural History Museum, supported by the French Institute and the French Environment Ministry.
Located at Paris’ Zoological Parc, the exhibition aims to show the public these extremely biodiverse and fragile ecosystems.
Every year, through cultural and scientific events, the MNHN, of which the Zoological Parc of Paris is a member, takes part in a joint venture between France and another country. Last year, it was Colombia, and this year, it is Israel.
The exhibition explores both French and Israeli reefs through 40 photographic panels that give a special focus to the New Caledonia reefs. Which are currently celebrating their 10th anniversary a Unesco World Heritage site.
The MNHN would like to thank those who volunteered photographs. Also, Israel’s commissioner, Yossi Loya, and France’s commissioner, Pascale Joannot.
