On April 18th, the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation will celebrate Earth Day with the Key School located in Annapolis, Maryland, USA.
Each year, the Key School celebrates this student-designed and coordinated event. The celebration centers around a theme chosen by the students. This year, they chose to focus on the importance and conservation of coral reef ecosystems as part of the International Year of the Reef (IYOR).
Throughout the day, students will attend lectures and learn about coral reefs by participating in hands-on STEAM activities led by the Living Oceans Foundation staff. These activities are designed to encourage environmental awareness and appreciation of coral reefs. The celebration will close with students identifying various ways to make a difference in protecting the environment.
