
France’s Center for Insular Studies and Environmental Observatory (CRIOBE) has organized a unique art exhibition entirely on coral reefs. This event will take place in the Galérie des Tropiques, in Tahiti, French Polynesia.
For 8 days, this art exhibition will feature 26 different artists, some of them among the most reputable of French Polynesia.
These artists will present a diverse representation of the reefs through different materials and techniques: painting, photography, sculpture (wood, stone or bronze), and nacre engravings. Through their art, they will acknowledge the importance of coral ecosystems, not only as sources of biodiversity, food and livelihoods, but also as an essential aspect of humankind.
The exposition is in association with French Polynesia’s Science Fest, a celebration for science dissemination and popularization, from November the 10th to the 18th.
