The Barbados Coral Reef symposium forms part of a series of activities planned for the International Year of the Reef (IYOR) 2018. It has been conceptualised to raise the awareness of issues affecting reef health, and to promote solutions for restoration of coral reef ecosystems in Barbados. The event entitled ‘Barbados Coral Reef Symposium 2018’ will feature presentations from top marine scientists in Barbados and a keynote address by Dr. David Vaughan, Manager of the coral reef restoration program at Mote Marine Laboratory’s Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research and Restoration. The event will also feature an exhibition of photos, art and poetry inspired by coral reefs.
